Tie Guan Yin Oolong Tea (~13g)
Tieguanyin is one of China’s most famous and beloved oolong teas. It is a semi-fermented tea that sits beautifully between green and black tea.
Traditional Tieguanyin is deeply roasted, offering a rich, nutty, and heavily baked aroma with notes of ripe fruit. Modern styles are lighter, showcasing a vibrant floral aroma (like orchids) with a crisp, sweet aftertaste known as "Guanyin Yun" (the unique, lasting rhyme or soul of the tea
How to Brew
To get the most out of Tieguanyin, a higher water temperature is essential to fully open up the tightly rolled leaves:
• Water Temperature: Use boiling water (100°C / 212°F).
• Ratio: Use about 5–7 grams of tea leaves for a standard teapot or Gaiwan (approx. 150ml).
• Steeping Time: The first brew takes about 20–30 seconds. You can increase the time by 5–10 seconds for each subsequent brew. High-quality Tieguanyin can easily be re-steeped 6 to 8 times.
